COVID-19: Provide your full names, others to enjoy train services, NRC charges passengers

In order to curb the spread of Coronavirus outbreak, the board and management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has listed conditions for passengers to enjoy train services.

The Corporation made this disclosure in a document signed by its Deputy Director for Public Relations, Mr Yakub Mahmood, which was obtained byLagos Business News (LBN), stating that its management has decided to provide passengers train services, but passengers must provide full names, address, date of birth and means of identity.

This new development would affect the NRC standard gauge and narrow gauge train services in Lagos, Abuja, Warri-Itakpe and other parts of the country.

Earlier on Saturday, NRC had announced the termination of all train services across the country, stating that its board and management have decided to stop all passenger trains operation as from Monday 23rd of March, 2020.

The move it stated that was in view of the report of the already known Coronavirus (Covid-19) outbreak.

According to the Corporation, we enjoin all passengers to please cooperate with any other measures put in place to protect ourselves from ourselves.

“Further information on passenger train services will be made available in due cause to our esteemed passengers”, NRC stated.
