Julius Berger extends food palliatives to Abuja communities
As part of its continued efforts to support Federal, State and the Federal Capital Territory Governments in the fight to contain the Covid-19 pandemic, Julius Berger Nigeria has expanded its food donation initiative to assist the vulnerable among the indigenes and residents of Abuja.
The project which is themed “Food for our Communities Campaign” and which was started by Julius Bergerin Lagos State, has now been extended to the six Area Councils of Abaji, Kwali, Gwagwalada, Bwari, Kuje and the Abuja Municipal Area Council.
In a Press Statement issued by the Group head of the Media Relations Office of the company, Prince Moses Duku, and obtained by The Daily Times, the Managing Director of Julius Berger, Engr. Dr Lars Richter, pledged that the company will continue to utilize its widely resourceful scope, including its high value, experienced, versatile and reliable human capital, facilities and technical knowhow to provide impactful support directly to communities and those working the front lines to tackle the spread of the pandemic and minimize its effects on the country and its citizenry till the eradication of its threat to human safety.
According to Dr Richter, “…the fight to contain the spread and threat of Covid-19 is a fight we must all join hands and win together.”
Julius Berger’s “Food for our Communities Campaign “proceeds in the next days to Kaduna, Kano, Onitsha and Asaba amongst other locations where help is critically needed.
The campaign also saw the company directly intervening with the palliatives-anchored CSR initiative in the Kagini community where food was donated to the natives and residents at the Palace of the Chief, His Royal Highness, Seriki Kagini, Alhaji Isah Jemutu Gbegbe, a former senior officer of the Nigerian Immigration Service.
From the palpably happy Gwagwalada Area Council Chairman, Hon. Adamu Mustapha Denze, to the ebullient and appreciative Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Hon. Danladi Chiya Maibayani a.k.a Bonboy to the Chairman of Abaji Area Council, Hon. Abdulrahman Ajiya, it was all commendations and encomiums for Julius Berger by the executive leadership of the Area Councils.
The Executive Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Candido and his counterpart at the Kuje Area Council, Hon. Abdullahi Sabo as well as the Chairman of Bwari Area Council, Hon. (Dr.) John Gabaya all spoke in glowing appreciation of Julius Berger to whom they pledged their indebtedness for the company’s show of sensitivity to the crucial needs of the people.
At the Palace of the traditional ruler of the Kagini community along the Kubwa expressway, His Royal Highness, Seriki Alhaji Isah Jemutu Gbegbe led his traditional cabinet and the people to receive the Julius Bergerteam led by the Group Head, Media Relations of the company, Prince Moses Duku and the Group Head, Corporate Communications Department, Mr James Agama.
Prince Duku conveyed the goodwill and best wishes of the Managing Director, Engr. Dr Lars Richter, the Board, executive management and the entire staff of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc to the King and people of the Kagini Chiefdom.
Duku thanked the community for their widely acknowledged peaceful, kindly and progressive disposition to issues of development in the FCT, urging them to maintain their commendably good nature.
His Royal Highness, Seriki Alhaji Isah Jemutu Gbegbe led his traditional cabinet and his people in a rain of gratitude and prayers to God to continue to bless Julius Bergermuch more than ever before under Engr. Dr Lars Richter who authorized the food palliative to be given to the community. Mothers and women in Kagini also prayed for more business opportunities and success for Julius Berger.
