Equities market up by 0.67% in four trading sessions

The equities market segment of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) gained 0.67 per cent in four days trading as investors renewed interest on listed blue chips companies.

The equities market traded for four days amid federal government declaration of Friday as Public Holiday to mark the Democracy Day celebrations.

The NSE All-Share Index to close the week at 25,182.67 basis points from 25,016.30 basis points it opened for trading this week.

All other indices finished higher with the exception of NSE MERI Growth, NSE Consumer Goods and NSE Oil/Gas Indices which depreciated by 0.07per cent, 0.20per cent and 2.62per cent respectively, while NSE ASeM closed flat.The NSE weekly report said, a total turnover of 1.103 billion shares worth N9.876 billion in 16,616 deals were traded this week by investors on the floor of the Exchange, in contrast to a total of 1.469 billion shares valued at N23.553 billion that exchanged hands last week in 22,911 deals.
