Imo Diasporans touch 400 lives via free medical outreach
.Laud Uzodinma for soft landing
About 400 lives were touched by a sophisticated medical outreach, on Sunday, 16th August 2020, at Omuma, Orlu, Imo State.
Medical outreach has proven over time to check health conditions and arrest underlying illnesses.
The recent COVID 19 outbreak demonstrated that more need to be done to strengthen our healthcare systems locally.
The event was planned and supervised by the Office of the Governor on Diaspora Affairs in Collaboration with Imo Canadian Diasporans. This is in the bid to support the ongoing healthcare developments in Imo State.
Whilst speaking to The Special Adviser to the Governor on Diaspora Affairs, our reporter gathered that one of the Imo Canadians who sponsored the ‘one day Free Healthcare’ is actually a son of Omuma in the Person of Uzoma Obi (CEO UZOSANUS FARM).
We were confidently told that the Imo Canadians are impressed with what the current Governor is doing, hence they are motivated to join hands with the 3R agenda in moving Imo forward.
In addition to this, Hon. Cllr. Celia Osakwe-Hibbert stated to our reporter that “Our Governor is working tirelessly to improve average life expectancy in Imo State, we Diasporans appreciate this and I’m glad that individuals and organisations from Diaspora are actively supporting the efforts of our Governor”. She further described the Imo State Governor as a workaholic who is determined to turn things around for the better.
The Special Adviser thanked Rev.Fr. Chike Dike for coordinating all logistics across Omuma Parishes, she thanked the lead Doctor, Emeka Polycarp Okoro for coordinating all Medical Professionals and thanked all the citizens who came out to receive Medical care especially as they were extremely calm throughout the whole process.
The outreach was said to have taken approximately 12hours in total, with the entire Diaspora Staff and dozen of Medical Personnels all exhausted at the end.
