Adigun who said this at the Ramadan program organised by Lagos State House of assembly Muslim community.

” The program is aimed to reinvigorate the Muslim community to practice charity because the month is a period to give out to the vulnerable in the society, hence food items are distributed daily for people to break their fast after tafseer. The tafseer serves as a medium to be reminded of the word of Allah and the practice of the Prophet Muhammad.

“An Adhoc Committee is formed for the purpose of organizing Ramadan Programs because of the significance of the month. There are forty Honourable member in the House, the Muslims amongst them give fund which is used for sponsoring the Ramadan program. Each member host the program for a day, hence the remaining days are sponsored by notable personnel in Lagos State”, he noted.

He added that the program has been in existence for a period of fifteen years till date. Due to the pandemic, Covid-19 protocols are being observed to limit the number of people who attend the tafseer program in the mosque. The total number of people catered for each day is based on the provision available as per funding; the least number per day is 250. The mosque has been designed to ensure social distance sitting for the people attending the program.

In his word “The major challenges I faced was I used to have my leave during this period, but this changed after I have been nominated as to head the Committee. For the people who attend the program held in the House of Assembly Mosque, it is difficult to differentiate who is a Muslim or non Muslim, likewise women having their monthly discharge.

Hence, organizing the crowd when it comes to distribution of Ramadan package tend to be tasky”. With the rate at which the program is being coordinated, he is confident the success can be rated 80% this has been achieved with the support of the organizing committee.
