N250m donation: Lagos Deputy Gov. prays for Davido
Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, has prayed for pop star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, following the latter’s decision to distribute N250 million across orphanages in Nigeria.
In a statement released on Saturday, the singer who turns 29 on Sunday, November 21, revealed that he would be donating the N250m in commemoration of his birthday.
He unveiled a five-man committee to oversee the distribution of the funds to the recipient orphanages.
Reacting, Hamzat in a post on his official Facebook page, said “Davido, Givers Never Lack. May your generations never lack good success. Amin. Thank you and God bless.”
He also made references to biblical and Quranic verses, “Holy Bible: Ist Chronicles 29, Proverb 22:9 and 19:17; Holy Quran: 9:71, 57:7 and 21:73”
