NEPC Urges SMEs To Take Advantage of the Export Of Non-oil Products

The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) has advised Micro, small and medium scale entrepreneurs in Nigeria to take advantage offered by the present administration of President Muhammadu Buhari in the area of export of non-oil products.

The council said it is fully prepared to provide necessary skills and knowledge to small and medium scale entrepreneurs to explore markets in the USA, UK and UAE.

The Executive Director and Chief Executive of NEPC, Dr Ezra Yakusak made the remarks in his opening address at a capacity building workshop for micro, small and medium entrepreneurs from Plateau State held at the Nigerian Institute for Mining and Geo-Sciences, recently.

Yakuza said, “Government is not unmindful of dwindling demand for her crude oil in international markets and has taken deliberate steps to boost her revenue through exports of non-oil products.

“It is in line with government policy to pursue full implementation of the Zero Oil Revenue Plan, the council is determined to ensure that made-in Nigerian products meet the requirements of regulated markets across the globe.”

NEPC Coordinator for North Central, Samson Idowu, noted that manufacturers must ensure their products meet international requirements in terms of health safety, packaging and labelling, environmental adaptability, etc.
