NIMN Inducts 29 New Fellows
National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has inducted twenty-nine new Fellows into the cadre of the marketing profession. The induction was recently held virtually with Tunji Adeyinka, GMD of the Republicom Group as the guest speaker.
The event, which had the theme: “The Digital Economy and Business Sustainability”, witnessed the presence of marketing gurus such as Idorenyen Enang, President of NIMN; Dr Kasua Coker, Chuka Ebora, Ms Olufade Adenike, Walter Okafor, Alexand Goma, Chairman of the Body of Fellows of the NIMN, and Tony Agemonmen, immediate past President of NIMN, among others.
The ceremony saw the admission of twenty-nine distinguished marketing professionals into their highest membership grade which is the fellowship of the institute as the rich professional career attainment of the awardees reflected the growing attraction of the NIMN professionals to marketing educators.
Mr Enang, while delivering his opening speech, congratulated the inductees for ascending to the highest membership cadre of the Institute. He stated that NIMN is at the forefront of promoting and advancing the course of the marketing profession itself and making its impact felt in the different spheres of society.
“This gesture will boost the profile of the Institute and make it more attractive to other leading lights in the marketing profession. For this reason, the governing council has embarked on the task of reviewing the NIMN Act to bring it to the current reality of the marketing environment,” he said.
He continued: “The professional examination curriculum is also being reviewed to incorporate into the syllabus on temporary terms in marketing so that our students can be properly equipped to meet their minimum requirement demanded by employers of labour, particularly to have an entrepreneur mindset.
“All of this is being put together and we have the committee that is working on it and in no time, we will be able to share with all whilst we convey appreciation to marketing professionals who have voluntarily registered with Institute. We wish to remind those that are yet to do so that it’s in their interest to comply with the relevant sections of the NIMN Act.”
While addressing the inductees, the president stated that attainment comes with responsibility, and therefore will be called upon from time to time to contribute their quota to the development of the institute.
“I will encourage you all to be active committee members that we all can rise and groom the younger members to make the Institute the prime of all. We believe they will assist to our request so that we do not invoke the provisions of the Act that prescribes sanction to non-compliance,” he said.
