Following incessant attacks by passengers on airline staff, FAAN officials and other personnel at airports, the management of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja are to organize an orientation course for stakeholders at the airport.

It was learned that the issue is of great concern to the new airport manager who has vowed to embark on bridging the gap in the communication chain of airlines, FAAN staff and those that interface with passengers.

Some stakeholders have argued unruly passengers’ behaviour was a result of a lack of commitment from airline officials to passengers by allowing breakdown in communication without duly informing them of the real situation. A source disclosed that most airlines do not train their staff on the adequate handling of aggrieved passengers.

There have been cases of destruction of airline’s property by angry passengers as a result of delayed or cancelled flights without due communication from airline officials but it was gathered the issue will soon be addressed.

It was also learned that in a bid to ensure sanity at the car park, a pay parking system has been introduced by the new management of the NAIA. This a source told our correspondent, will further boost revenue generation.
