Onne Seaport Inauguration, APFFLON, Customs Deliberate on Attracting Foreign Exchange

As part of activities towards the inauguration of its Onne Seaport Chapter, African Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) deliberate with Nigeria Customs Service, Zone ‘C’ Command, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The APFFLON team was led by its National President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, while the team were received by the Assistant Comptroller General of Customs in charge of the zone, ACG Gboyega Peters.
APFFLON will on Thursday, inaugurate its Onne Port Chapter.
Briefing journalists on the outcome of the visit, Otunba Ogunojemite said the issues discussed majored on challenges confronting businesses at the ports, especially terminal deposits and recent increment in charges by shipping & terminal operators.
The meeting also discussed trade facilitation and how to make optimal use of the eastern ports.
According to the APFFLON President, other issues tabled were how to improve the export of indigenous products to attract foreign currencies and boost federal government revenues.
The APFFLON President and his team earlier met with the Nigerian Shippers Council, South-South Zonal Office where they were received by the Director, Mr Glory Onojedo.
