Budget padding: Senate Lifts Suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi
The decision to reinstate him came after a motion was moved by Deputy Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro on Tuesday.
Senator Moro, while moving the motion, apologized on behalf of Ningi and took full responsibility for his actions. Ningi had been suspended following allegations of budget padding that he made during an interview.
In the Senate session, Senator Moro expressed regret over the situation and assured that such incidents would not recur. The Senate, acknowledging the apology and the steps taken by Moro, decided to lift the suspension and reinstate Ningi to his senatorial duties.
This reinstatement is seen as a move to maintain unity and allow Senator Ningi to continue his legislative responsibilities.
