EFCC Nabs 5 Suspected Illegal BDC Operators

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Maiduguri Zonal Command, has apprehended five individuals suspected of operating illegal bureau de change services.

The arrests occurred on Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The suspects were detained at the Borno State Hajj Camp, located within Sir Kashim Ibrahim College of Education, Maiduguri.

A statement issued by the anti-graft commission on Thursday, said the operation was based on reliable intelligence indicating their involvement in unauthorized foreign currency transactions.

EFCC also said the suspects are expected to be formally charged in court after completion of integration.
