On Thursday, Saudi Arabia confirmed the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent moon, signifying the start of the 12th month in the Islamic calendar.

As a result, the holy month begins tomorrow. The Hajj pilgrimage for the year 1445 AH (2024) will start on Friday, June 14, with the Day of Arafah scheduled for Saturday, June 15.

In light of this, the significant Muslim festival, Eid al-Adha, will be celebrated on Sunday, June 16, 2024.

The Day of Arafah, an important part of the Hajj pilgrimage, will occur on June 15.

The Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia had earlier called upon Muslims across the country to observe the crescent moon of Dhul Hijjah. This observation is crucial for determining the start of the new month and the exact date of the festival on the Islamic calendar.

Eid al-Adha, the most significant Islamic festival, falls on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, according to PUNCH Online.

Eid al-Adha is observed globally by Muslims on the tenth day of Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth month of the Islamic lunar calendar. It is the second major Islamic festival following Eid al-Fitr.
