Residents of Ondo and Ekiti States will experience a two-month power outage starting from July 1, due to essential maintenance work on the Osogbo/Akure – Ado – Ekiti 132kV line.

The Transmission Commission of Nigeria (TCN) announced that this downtime is necessary to ensure the safe installation of new infrastructure.

The Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) shared the news on their social media platforms, detailing that the maintenance will include the installation of Optical Ground Wire (OPGW) and other critical activities.

This work requires the power line to be shut down daily from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, affecting consumers in both states until August 31, 2024.

Customers have been informed to expect service interruptions during these hours.

BEDC has expressed regret over the inconvenience and has asked for patience and understanding from those impacted by the outages.
