Pensioners Demand an End to 50% FAAN Revenue Deductions

Members of the Federal Parastatals & Private Sector Pensioners Association of Nigeria (FEPPPAN) have appealed to the Federal Government to stop further mandatory deductions of Fifty Percent (50%) of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) revenue into the Federal Treasury Account and five per cent deductions from FAAN collected revenue and remitted to AIB.
Rising from a meeting of FEPPPAN all chairmen and secretaries held in Enugu, the body noted that the indiscriminate deductions will not allow FAAN to meet its statutory obligations to the public and carter for staff and pensioners’ plights.
In a statement signed by Chief Abah John, Comrade Emeka Njoku national chairman and national secretary/admin respectively, they frowned at the poor medical treatment of pensioners, called on the management of FAAN to respect the
agreement reached on medical treatment for pensioners.
While commending FAAN management for paying pensions as at when due the body noted that the issues concerning FAAN pensioners were very germane, especially welfare.
They condemned any fraudulent act in the system and vowed to expose such acts to the authorities ranging from revenue collection points, and mismanagement of funds among others.
At the meeting, the national office was mandated to commence the development of their structure at the union piece of land in the airport, to avoid encroachment of the land and urged the management of FAAN to embark on more developmental projects
They congratulated the national officers and pensioners of FAAN for a successful migration to FEPPPAN from NUP, by the Federal Trade Union Act establishing the same.
