TOG Reaffirms Commitment to Revolutionize Nigeria’s Large-scale Agriculture

Tractor on The Go (TOG), a subsidiary of Origin Tech Group, has restated its commitment to keep revolutionising large-scale agriculture in Nigeria.

TOG launched a groundbreaking tractor-hailing app service in 2019. This innovative platform was initially designed to tackle the challenges of low tractor density and limited access to mechanisation services among small-holder farmers.

Now, it has been upgraded to still serve its initially purpose and also to provide equipment tracking and monitoring services. TOG’s mission is to empower farming communities by providing affordable and accessible mechanization support, enhancing farm productivity, and contributing to food security across the nation.

TOG was established to bring together stakeholders within the agricultural value chain, fostering seamless collaboration to deliver mechanization services to smallholder farmers in their communities, associations, and clusters. The initiative is strategically designed to address the persistent lack of mechanization support that has stunted the growth of small-scale farming in Nigeria.

Head of TOG, Anthony Agbonlahor said, “we recognize how crucial mechanisation is for improving farm productivity and securing the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. Our goal is to break down the barriers that have historically limited farmers’ access to tractors and other essential equipment. Tractor on The Go is not just a service; it is a movement dedicated to transforming agriculture in Nigeria and beyond.”

He added that “the primary aim of Tractor on The Go is to ensure every farmer can access mechanisation services promptly, which will boost productivity and maximize returns on existing landholdings.

“By strategically increasing tractor density across Nigeria, TOG is paving the way for a sustainable and profitable agribusiness environment, ultimately contributing to the nation’s agricultural development.

Agbonlahor stated, “we urge all interested farmers to join this transformative initiative.
