NECA Collaborates with Hayes on Project Enable I.T for Enhanced Manpower Development
The Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA) has announced a new partnership with Hayes, a civil and social organisation with the mission to build the largest community of empowered youths in Africa on its Enable I.T. Project to accelerate workforce development.
Project Enable I.T, an initiative owned by Hayes, is a two(2) months comprehensive tech skill program that accommodates 50 learners per batch in intensive hybrid classes. The program offers end-to-end career development guidance and mentorship to help graduates kickstart their careers and earn a decent income.
According to the Director General of the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association NECA, Mr Adewale Smatt-Oyerinde, the partnership will help to upskill workforce skill development in IT, address the shortage of skilled manpower, and create more employment opportunities for young people.
Smart Oyerinde explained that the partnership demonstrates the association’s commitment to deepening collaboration in human capital development, particularly youth development, amidst the growing rate of unemployment.
He declared that the addition of the new collaboration with Hayes would complement the ongoing partnerships with the Industrial Training Fund, UNITeS CISCO Networking Academy, International Organization of Employers, and the International Labour Organization(ILO).
In her remarks, Project Initiator Enable I.T, Oyinkansola Oni stated that Hayes is excited to have NECA on board as a project partner. She noted that through the partnership, many young unemployed graduates would have the opportunity to learn at the fully equipped NECA ICT Academy.
