New OPSN Chairman Pledges Stronger Advocacy for Private Sector Growth
The newly elected chairman of the Organised Private Sector of Nigeria (OPSN), Dele Kelvin Oye, has vowed to strengthen advocacy and drive economic development for Nigeria’s private sector. His tenure, which began on January 31, 2025, marks a new phase in advancing economic growth and sustainable business reforms in the country.
A seasoned advocate for private enterprise across Nigeria and West Africa, Oye brings over 34 years of expertise in law and business to his new role. As the current President of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NACCIMA), he has played a pivotal role in fostering economic collaboration and policy development.
Now at the helm of OPSN, Oye will lead an influential coalition that includes NACCIMA, the Nigeria Employers’ Consultative Association (NECA), the National Association of Small and Medium Enterprises (NASME), the National Association of Small Scale Industries (NASSI), and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN). These organisations collectively represent the backbone of Nigeria’s private sector.
Oye has outlined a bold agenda for the OPSN, focusing on robust policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and initiatives aimed at improving Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global economy. His leadership experience, which includes spearheading successful trade missions to major economies such as the United States, the United Kingdom, China, and several African nations, underscores his commitment to expanding Nigeria’s trade and investment footprint.
“Taking on the role of OPSN Chairman is both an honour and a profound responsibility. I am dedicated to ensuring that the private sector’s voice is not only heard but plays a defining role in shaping Nigeria’s economic trajectory. Together, we will adopt innovative approaches to tackle challenges and unlock new opportunities,” Oye stated.
