In a bid to improve accessibility for all, the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) has installed a modern stair lift at its head office in Falomo, Ikoyi.
This initiative aligns with the Lagos State Government’s THEMES+ agenda, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity, particularly for the elderly and persons with physical challenges.
The newly installed stair lift is a state-of-the-art mobility solution designed to assist individuals who require support in navigating stairs safely and comfortably.
This development underscores LASWA’s ongoing efforts to enhance accessibility and ensure a seamless experience for visitors and staff alike.
Speaking on the upgrade, LASWA’s General Manager, Mr. Oluwadamilola Emmanuel, emphasized the importance of accessible public spaces. “We believe that no one should face obstacles when accessing public services. This stair lift is a step towards creating a more inclusive and welcoming environment. Our goal is to make Lagos waterways and our services easily accessible to all,” he stated.
The installation of the stair lift is part of LASWA’s broader strategy to improve infrastructure and prioritize safety, convenience, and efficiency across its operations.
The agency invites the public to take advantage of this new facility, reaffirming its commitment to making water transport in Lagos inclusive, safe, and efficient for all residents.
