Matawalle Inspects Combat Vehicles with Advanced Protection

In a significant boost to Nigeria’s defence capabilities, the Honourable Minister of State for Defence, Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, inspected locally manufactured combat vehicles at the Ministry of Defence in Abuja. The vehicles, designed and manufactured by Proforce Nigeria Limited, demonstrate cutting-edge engineering capabilities and a strong commitment to enhancing Nigeria’s defence and security architecture.

The inspected vehicles, specifically the PF Hulk Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, offer advanced protection against improvised explosive devices (IEDs), ballistic threats, and ambushes. They are equipped with a YaMZ-536 turbocharged diesel engine, delivering 360 horsepower, and comply with STANAG 4569 Level 3a/3b protection standards.

The PF Hulk vehicles have an operational range of up to 1,000 km, can transport up to 10 fully equipped troops, and boast a 400 mm ground clearance. This showcases Nigeria’s growing capabilities in indigenous defence manufacturing.

The inspection underscores the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting localized military production initiatives, enhancing the operational readiness, technological independence, and warfighting capabilities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria. Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, the government remains committed to leveraging indigenous innovation in strengthening Nigeria’s defence infrastructure.
