The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) has concluded plans to inaugurate new CNG refuelling stations across five states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
In a statement on Friday, Kenechukwu Chukwu, head of stakeholder management and public engagement for PCNGI, disclosed that the stations will be commissioned between April 25 and May 29 in Enugu, Abuja, Lokoja, Kogi State, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State and Abia.
According to him, the new stations will enhance intra-state transportation, particularly from key traffic hubs such as Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Kano.
Chukwu added that the inauguration of the new stations is part of an array of initiatives PCNGI is “rolling out to Democracy Day” to accelerate Nigeria’s CNG adoption nationwide.
“As part of a series of events marking the important strides the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made in bringing affordable transportation and enabling domestic utilization of gas for industrialization, the Presidential CNG Initiative is pleased to announce a series of important events demonstrating the administration’s commitment to the ongoing CNG Revolution.
The specific milestone events lined up are as follows,” the statement reads.
