FCTA Hits 95% Budget Implementation Mark for 2024
Nyesom wike
Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that his administration has achieved an unprecedented 90% to 95 per cent implementation of the 2024 budget.
This significant milestone, he noted, has never been achieved before now.
Wike made the revelation on Monday during a media briefing after his inspection of several major ongoing projects in the Territory, which were slated for commissioning during President Bola Tinubu’s second year anniversary in office.
He explained that while the FCT budget for 2025 has already been submitted to the National Assembly, which is set to reconvene on April 25, this does not impede the current ongoing projects.
“These projects are part of the 2024 budget, which has been extended until the end of June. We are operating within legal boundaries,” Wike said.
He clarified that the funding for the projects was derived from the Statutory Budget of the FCT, not the annual national budget.

“The majority of this work is covered under the FCT’s Statutory Budget, which has already been approved and forwarded to the President,” he stated.
Regarding the ongoing renovations at the International Conference Center (ICC), Wike praised the contractors for their performance.
“The contractors handling these various jobs have met expectations, and we are ensuring prompt payments to avoid any delays.
