UN-POLAC Reaffirms Commitment to Peaceful Coexistence on International Day of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace

 

The Country President of United Nations Positive Livelihood Award Centre ( UN-POLAC), Amb. Engr. Peter Ohagwa KSC has reiterated Commitment of the organisation in fostering national cooperation and peaceful resolution of conflicts.

In a message to commemorate this year’s International Day Of Multilateralism And Diplomacy For Peace ,Amb,Ohagwa noted that it is significant occasion that reaffirms the collective resolve in promoting culture of peace and conflict resolution.

He highlighted that in a country facing complex challenges,like Nigeria that includes ethnic crises to religious dichotomy, gender inequality, social discrimination, poverty, and insecurity, multilateralism and diplomacy are more crucial than ever. By working together, we can build a more just, equitable, and peaceful nation.

Speaking further, Amb Ohagwa recognizes the importance of Addressing the root causes of conflicts and promoting sustainable development, Promoting dialogue and cooperation among ethnic groups and different religions, Strengthening internal institutions and framework, as well fostering a culture of Peace, Tolerance and Understanding.

He also called on government at all levels, religious organizations, traditional leaders, civil societies and individuals to join forces in promoting multilateralism and diplomacy for peace.

” together we can address national challenges and promote sustainable development, build trust and understanding among citizens and foster a culture of peace and non-violence.”

International Day
of Multilateralism and Diplomacy for Peace is observed on 24th April every year aimed at promoting peace and resolving conflicts.
