….22% of Lagosians Make Use of Waterways – SSA

In a bid to reduce emissions and build an eco-friendly environment, the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on Transportation, Hon. Toyin Aremu, has advised Lagosians to make use of Lagos waterways.

He stated that only 22% of Lagosians currently utilize the waterways. This was disclosed at the Eco-Move Lagos conference held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

The Eco-Move program, which commenced on the 24th and is expected to end on April 30th, aims to connect communities, reduce emissions, and understand the role of public transportation in achieving sustainable goals.

Hon. Aremu noted that the Lagos Eco-Move initiative is designed to help Lagosians realize their vision for Lagos by 2030.

The SSA emphasized the importance of prioritizing the use of waterways in Lagos and promoting public transportation. He encouraged citizens to overcome their fears and phobias, highlighting opportunities in the waterways.

Furthermore, he stated that the initiative would promote the health sector, contribute to the state’s economy, and make Lagosians more refreshed.

Hon. Aremu lastly admonished Lagosians to collaborate with the government to build an eco-friendly environment.”
