Portable Cries Out as Access Bank Freezes Account Allegedly Holding N400 Billion
Lagos, Nigeria – May 4, 2025 — Controversial Nigerian street-hop singer, Portable, has taken to social media in an emotional outburst, accusing Access Bank of freezing his account which, according to him, holds over N400 billion.
In a widely circulated video, the singer claimed the funds were legitimate earnings from his music, specifically stating they were payments received from Apple Music.
“My money is with Access Bank, over 400 billion Naira and they have frozen my account!” Portable exclaimed. “I don’t do yahoo yahoo. I do music for a living, and that money was sent to me by Apple Music.”
Portable, known for his unconventional style and outspoken nature, also expressed fears of being arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), drawing comparisons with an earlier incident involving social media personality VeryDarkMan (VDM) and GT Bank.
“I don’t want to go to the bank now and they call the EFCC for me like GT Bank did to VDM,” he said. “Please, Nigerians, help me beg Access Bank to release my 400 billion.”
As of the time of this report, Access Bank has not issued an official statement regarding the allegation. Industry experts and social media users have also raised questions about the accuracy of the N400 billion claim, noting that the figure is unusually high for an individual musician.
The situation continues to generate buzz online, with supporters urging the bank to clarify the issue, while critics question the credibility of the singer’s claims.
