Access Bank Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening financial inclusion for Nigerians living abroad, following the official launch of the Non-Resident Bank Verification Number (NRBVN) platform by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS).

The NRBVN platform marks a pivotal advancement, enabling Non-Resident Nigerians (NRNs) to register for their Bank Verification Numbers (BVNs) outside Nigeria—an essential step in accessing banking and financial services back home.

Managing Director and CEO of Access Bank Plc, Mr Roosevelt Ogbonna, described the development as a transformative milestone for diaspora banking. We commend the Central Bank of Nigeria and NIBSS for the successful rollout of the NRBVN platform. This is a bold step toward integrating millions of Nigerians abroad into the country’s financial system. At Access Bank, we are proud to be part of this initiative and remain dedicated to delivering innovative, tailored financial solutions for our diaspora customers,” he said.

In alignment with the NRBVN initiative, Access Bank has commenced BVN registration services at designated locations across major global cities, including those in the United Kingdom, the United States, parts of Europe, and the Middle East.

The bank’s enhanced offering for diaspora customers includes digital BVN enrolment via the secure NIBSS platform, instant Access Bank account opening, and a wide range of specialised products such as mortgage financing, solar energy solutions, lifestyle perks, and investment opportunities in Nigerian real estate, mutual funds, and fixed deposits.

Additionally, diaspora customers can enjoy multi-currency banking in Naira, US Dollars, Euros, and Pounds Sterling, backed by a dedicated 24/7 support team.

Access Bank’s initiative aligns with the CBN’s broader strategic goals of enhancing remittance flows, improving financial identity, and extending banking access to Nigerians regardless of geographic location.

The bank, therefore, urged Nigerians abroad who are yet to enrol for their BVNs to take advantage of the new NRBVN platform.
