MTN Nigeria Launches 2025 Y’ello Care to Boost Digital Inclusion
MTN Nigeria has flagged off the 2025 edition of its flagship employee volunteerism initiative, 21 Days of Y’ello Care, with a renewed focus on expanding digital inclusion across underserved communities.
This year’s campaign, themed “Connecting at the Roots – Connecting Communities through Digital Tools,” runs from June 1 to June 21, 2025. It aims to bridge digital gaps by providing training, tools, and connectivity to areas with limited access to technology.
The programme commenced on Sunday, June 1, with MTN staff volunteers delivering impactful training sessions in Lagos on digital marketing, personal branding, and employability skills. These early sessions set the tone for a national campaign that will extend across multiple communities in Nigeria.
Speaking at the opening ceremony in Lagos, Mr Karl Toriola, Chief Executive Officer, MTN Nigeria, reiterated the company’s deep commitment to social impact. “Y’ello Care matters to us because we’re a digital company operating in an environment with immense needs. We care, and we want to show our direct responsibility to the communities we serve,” he said.
MTN’s 2025 Y’ello Care campaign will implement grassroots initiatives such as equipping schools and youth centres with digital tools, hosting digital literacy workshops, deploying community Wi-Fi access points, and supporting digital entrepreneurship. Additionally, MTN will roll out Y’ello Pods—integrated hubs that will serve as digital learning centres and promote financial inclusion.
Now in its 18th year, 21 Days of Y’ello Care continues to be a Group-wide initiative that empowers MTN staff to contribute time, skills, and resources toward meaningful social change. The campaign underscores MTN’s mission to enable the benefits of a modern connected life for everyone.
