Residents of Ayegun Oleyo community in Ibadan, Oyo State, have accused real estate giant, Adron Homes and Properties, of forcefully seizing their ancestral land in defiance of a court injunction, and allegedly deploying armed thugs and police to intimidate them.

In a protest video obtained by NewsMediang, the visibly aggrieved residents decried the illegal occupation and heavy excavation activities being carried out by Adron Homes despite ongoing litigation over the disputed land.

“We did not sell any land to Adron,” a community elder declared. “We are the rightful owners of Agbaoke, Igbo Olowo. We’ve told him several times but he refused to listen. Instead, he brought thugs with guns and weapons — maybe with the intent to silence us.”

The residents claim that the company, notorious for aggressive land acquisition tactics, has fenced off large portions of their land and deployed heavy machinery such as caterpillars to begin excavation work — all in violation of a subsisting court injunction.

“There’s a valid injunction stopping them from touching the land,” another resident said. “But they return again and again with hoodlums and even some compromised police officers. We’re now living in fear on our own land.”

The community is now urgently calling on Governor Seyi Makinde and the Oyo State Government to intervene before the crisis escalates into bloodshed.

As of the time of filing this report, efforts by NewsMediang to reach Adron Homes for comment were unsuccessful. A WhatsApp message sent to the company’s media representative went unanswered.
