Tinubu Appoints Ukhurebor to Drive $25bn Creative Tech Economy
President Bola Tinubu’s administration has appointed Peter Osarimen Ukhurebor, founder and CEO of Black At, to the Council for Creative Technology Futures (CCTF), a new national body designed to position Nigeria’s cultural and creative industries as a global force through the integration of cutting-edge technologies.
The CCTF, approved by the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, will shape policy and strategy for applying Artificial Intelligence, Augmented and Virtual Reality, Web3, and Blockchain across more than 49 sectors of the creative economy, which is projected to exceed $25 billion by 2025.
Ukhurebor, a brand architect and cultural strategist with over 15 years of global experience, has worked with Fortune 500 companies and spearheaded platforms at Cannes Lions, AfroFuture Festival, and other international events. His leadership through Black At has advanced equity, representation, and innovation across the creative landscape.
In his appointment letter, Director-General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, Obi Asika, described Ukhurebor as a visionary capable of shaping the convergence of culture and technology, noting that his expertise would be instrumental in unlocking new jobs, strengthening intellectual property protection, and expanding Nigeria’s global creative market share.
