LASAA Hosts Legislative Delegation, Reaffirms Commitment to Visual Order and Public Safety
The Lagos State Signage and Advertisement Agency (LASAA) recently played host to a delegation from the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Environment, led by its Chairman, Honourable Shabi Rasheed Adekola.
The visit, which formed part of the committee’s statutory oversight function, provided a vital platform for in-depth engagement on LASAA’s performance, achievements, and adherence to regulatory standards across the state.
Productive Deliberations on Policy and Performance
The LASAA management team, led by the Managing Director/CEO, Prince Fatiu Akiolu, held extensive discussions with the legislators, addressing the agency’s operational framework, compliance systems, and ongoing projects.
The session fostered fruitful dialogue on the agency’s strategic policies, current initiatives, and its continuous drive to ensure an organised, safe, and visually appealing outdoor advertising environment throughout Lagos State.
Prince Akiolu expressed appreciation to the committee for its continuous support and oversight, emphasizing LASAA’s unwavering dedication to service excellence.
“We are deeply committed to upholding best practices in outdoor advertising regulation,”
said Prince Akiolu.
“Our mission is to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of Lagos State’s visual environment — a goal we pursue rigorously for the benefit of all residents and visitors.”
Lawmakers Commend LASAA’s Performance
In his remarks, Honourable Shabi Rasheed Adekola lauded LASAA’s operational efficiency and professionalism, noting that the agency’s efforts under Prince Akiolu’s leadership have significantly contributed to a cleaner and safer Lagos through effective signage regulation.
He emphasized the importance of continued collaboration between the legislature and government agencies, describing it as essential for efficient service delivery and accountability in alignment with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
“We recognise LASAA’s vital role in keeping Lagos clean and safe,” Honourable Adekola stated.
“This partnership between the legislature and government agencies is key to ensuring accountability and maintaining the state’s visual integrity.”
Call for Greater Public Engagement
Honourable Adekola also urged LASAA to intensify public sensitization efforts, stressing that community awareness of the agency’s core mandate is crucial for fostering compliance and improving revenue generation.
He further highlighted the need for LASAA to reassure Lagosians that all outdoor advertising structures are safe, secure, and built with utmost integrity.
Commitment to Transparency and Innovation
The oversight visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both the Lagos State House of Assembly and LASAA to transparency, innovation, and efficiency in public administration.
Both parties expressed readiness to continue working together to promote sustainable growth, visual order, and safety — further enhancing the quality of life for residents and visitors in Lagos State.
