Lagos Transport Commissioner Urges LASWA Staff to Strengthen Teamwork, Prioritise Safety and Project Delivery

The Honourable Commissioner for Transportation in Lagos State Mr Oluwaseun Osiyemi, has undertaken a working visit to the Lagos State Waterways Authority LASWA, where he met with management and staff to review operational priorities and reinforce the government’s commitment to efficient water transport services.

During the visit, the Osiyemi encouraged staff to work as a unified team, stressing the need for unity, mutual respect and collaboration across all levels of the Authority.

He noted that strong teamwork, professionalism and innovative thinking are critical to improving service delivery and expanding the capacity of water transportation in the state.

Osiyemi reiterated that the safety of commuters remains a top priority for the Lagos State Government and charged LASWA personnel to maintain and continuously improve safety standards across all waterways. According to him, a shared sense of responsibility and coordination among staff is essential to achieving safer and more reliable water transport operations.

The Commissioner also highlighted the importance of teamwork in ensuring the timely delivery of the Omi Eko Project, describing it as a strategic initiative designed to enhance water transport infrastructure and ease mobility challenges within the state.

Commending LASWA staff for their dedication and commitment, the Commissioner assured them of the Ministry’s continued support, emphasising that the government remains focused on fostering a performance driven and supportive work environment that delivers tangible benefits to commuters across Lagos State.
