The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) closed the week strongly in positive territory, with the All-Share Index advancing three point eight four per cent week-on-week to settle at 171,727.49 points.

Gains were recorded across all trading sessions, underscoring sustained investor appetite for equities.

Heavyweight stocks drove the rally, with ARADEL climbing fifteen point three six per cent week-on-week, SEPLAT up ten point zero zero per cent, and MTNN gaining eight point four one per cent.

These performances more than offset declines in OANDO, which slipped three point two one per cent, UBA down zero point two three per cent, and BETAGLAS losing five point three one per cent.

The broad-based momentum lifted year-to-date returns to ten point nine three per cent, up from six point two seven per cent the previous week. Market capitalisation expanded by ₦4.08 trillion to close at ₦110.23 trillion.

Friday’s session extended the bullish streak, with the NGX rising one point zero one per cent on renewed buying interest in NESTLE, which gained two point one five per cent, PRESCO up one point six two per cent, and JBERGER surging nine point nine zero per cent.

Market capitalisation added ₦73.5 billion, while trading activity strengthened as transaction value jumped ninety-three point five three per cent day-on-day.

A total of 953.77 million shares worth ₦43.08 billion exchanged hands across 51,005 deals. FIRSTHOLDCO led volumes with 92.29 million units, while PRESCO topped the value chart at ₦11.27 billion.

Market breadth remained firmly positive at three point one one times, with DEAPCAP rising ten point zero zero per cent to lead fifty-nine gainers against nineteen laggards, topped by DAARCOMM, which fell seven point three two per cent.

On the NASD OTC Exchange, the bullish run extended for a fourth consecutive session. The NASD Securities Index rose zero point four six per cent to 3,689.72 points, while market capitalisation closed at ₦2.21 trillion, translating to a one point six four per cent weekly gain.

Trading activity was mixed, with transaction volume down sixty-seven point nine one per cent but value up thirty-three point four eight per cent. SDPLC gained nine point zero three per cent to lead the board, while SDGEFLUID dropped ten point four seven per cent to top the decliners.
