WIEG 2026 Investment Summit Rescheduled To April 22 To 23 In Lagos
The organisers of the World International Economic Group, WIEG 2026 Investment Summit, have announced a new date for the highly anticipated global investment gathering.
According to a statement issued by the Summit secretariat, the event will now hold from April 22 to 23, 2026, at the Four Points By Sheraton, Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The rescheduling, the organisers explained, was necessitated by the need to ensure greater inclusion, broader institutional participation, deeper stakeholder integration, and stronger investment outcomes.
The shift in date will also allow the Ramadan season to conclude, creating a more favourable timeline for key participants.
The statement noted that the decision followed extensive consultations with high level public and private sector stakeholders, including government institutions, development finance partners, industry regulators, sponsors, and sector leaders.
It added that the additional time would allow for continued engagement and strategic alignment aimed at mobilising investment networks and sectoral ecosystems.
The secretariat expressed appreciation to stakeholders who have already identified with the Summit, describing their leadership and credibility as integral to the vision of building a transformative investment platform for Nigeria and the African continent.
It said the new timeline would give speakers, panellists, deal partners, and sponsors more time to prepare substantive contributions, secure internal approvals, and align participation with the schedules of senior executives and policy leaders.
Organisers emphasised that the WIEG 2026 Investment Summit is designed as a high impact deal making platform rather than a conventional conference.
The event is expected to focus on capital mobilisation for a proposed Smart City project and investments in critical sectors of the Nigerian economy. It is also structured to attract top level decision makers and deliver measurable outcomes.
The statement described the postponement as a strategic enhancement intended to ensure that all partners derive maximum value, visibility, and influence from the platform.
With the new dates, the organisers expect broader institutional representation across government and private sector leadership, stronger investor pipeline development, enhanced global delegate participation, more structured policy investment dialogue, and increased partnership visibility.
WIEG is an international organisation registered across 200 countries, with its headquarters in Malaysia.
The group operates as a multi sector economic growth platform integrating investment facilitation, trade, community development, humanitarian action, and sustainable enterprise growth across emerging and frontier markets.
Its Nigeria mandate is registered and chartered to coordinate and oversee all WIEG programmes, investments, and partnerships within the country.
