Sanwo-Olu’s Free Eye Care Outreach for Zone 2 Police Officers Enters Day Two
A free eye care outreach organised for officers of the Zone 2 Police Command in Lagos has entered its second day, with about 1,000 personnel expected to benefit from the programme.
The three day outreach, initiated by the administration of Babajide Sanwo-Olu through the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport and Logistics, is being held at the command headquarters on King George V Road, Onikan.

The medical exercise, which began on Wednesday, includes comprehensive eye examinations, general medical checks and the distribution of corrective glasses to officers who require them.
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Transport and Logistics, Hassan Adekoya, said the initiative forms part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to improve the welfare and operational readiness of security personnel working in the state.
According to him, the Zone 2 Police Command was included in the outreach after the command requested for the programme, having learned about similar medical interventions previously organised for officers at the Nigeria Police Force headquarters in Ikeja, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and commercial drivers across Lagos.
He noted that the outreach has recorded a large turnout, with officers undergoing eye screening and receiving prescription glasses where necessary.

Also present at the event were the Senior Special Assistant to the Ekiti State Governor on Public Health, Opeyemi Ogunsakin, who assisted with health checks, and Anita Natacha Akide, a two time Guinness World Record holder and former Big Brother Naija housemate, who commended the initiative.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Adegoke Fayoade, is expected to formally close the outreach programme on Friday.
