Vice President Kashim Shettima will lead a delegation of top party figures to Zamfara State on Tuesday for the official reception of Governor Dauda Lawal into the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The announcement was made by the Zamfara APC Chairman, Tukur Danfulani Maikatako, during a stakeholders’ meeting in Gusau.

He said the Vice President would be joined by members of the party’s national leadership for what is expected to be a major political event in the state.

Maikatako described the governor’s return as a homecoming, pointing out that Zamfara has long been aligned with the APC and that Lawal was once an active member before leaving the party.

He urged party members across all 147 wards and 14 local government areas to turn out in large numbers to welcome the Vice President, noting that the event would help strengthen the party’s grassroots presence ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Calling for unity, the chairman appealed to members to move past internal disagreements, stressing that the APC remains one united platform focused on development and progress.

In the same vein, former state APC Chairman Lawal M. Liman encouraged members to mobilize support at all levels, emphasizing that unity within the party would play a crucial role in securing future electoral victories.

The gathering in Gusau is expected to draw widespread attention as the APC works to reinforce its political standing in Zamfara State
