MTN introduces Free Healthcare services for Women, Children in Kwara

MTN Nigeria has introduced free health care services, including medical screening and diagnosis, consultations, treatment, drug prescription, vaccination as well as referral services to the women and children in Kwara state of Nigeria.

MTN through its Foundation launched the Y’ello Doctor Medical Intervention scheme to provide free medical care and drugs for people in semi-urban and rural areas in Nigeria through mobile clinics. On recently.

The Foundation officially handed over one of the six ultra-modern mobile medical vehicles in Kwara state, to provide access to primary healthcare services for rural and semi-urban communities and markets in Kwara state.

The Executive Secretary, MTN Foundation, Odunayo Sanya, said that they will continue to work with the government, to ensure that Nigerians, especially those in rural and semi-urban communities have access to basic healthcare.

The Deputy Governor of Kwara state, kayode Alabi, in his remark at the handover ceremony said “As a government, we are focused on making use of our resources and sustainable partnerships such as this to achieve goal 17 of the United Nations sustainable development goals. We are working in line with the Federal Government’s vision to ensure that there is at least one primary healthcare centre in each ward.

Other states to benefit from the third phase of the Y’ello Doctor initiative are; Lagos, Kano, Gombe,Anambra and Rivers states.
