Tinubu Re-assures Nigerians of Economic Revival

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that the hard economic situation would soon be over, asking them to persevere.
Tinubu gave this assurance at the commissioning of the first phase of the Lagos Red Line at the Ikeja Train Station on Thursday.
According to him, the inauguration of the first phase Red Line Mass Transit Rail of the Lagos State Government from Agbado to Oyingbo is part of
developmental phases that will transform Lagos in to economic hub.
Launching President Tinubu said his administration had just clocked nine months and the labour unions should give him more time to turn things around for good.
He said change is inevitable as he reassured the people that Nigeria economic would be revamped.
The President also urged Nigerians to exercise patience on the current economic challenges promising not to let them down.
He commended the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration for the giant stride on the twenty-seven Kilometres first phase Red Line Mass Transit Rail.
“The unveiling of the first phase of the Red line rail was a day to remember in the infrastructural history of Lagos State.”
Earlier, in his Address, Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu thanked President Tinubu for being the brain behind the Lagos State Strategic master plan as forner Governor to boost the economy and ensure interconnectivity and seamless movement of people in the state.
According to the Governor, the Red line rail initiative will reduce travel time, alleviate health issues caused by stress, boost economic productivity, ease traffic congestion, minimise road accidents, and enhance commuter safety.
“This brings to two, the number of rail lines owned and operated by the Lagos State Government as the Blue Line rail, which runs from Marina to Mile 2 was inaugurated last year and had since commenced commercial operations.”
In a Goodwill message, Minister for Transportation, Sa’idu Alkali who commended the initiative by the Lagos State Government reiterated the commitment of the federal government to support initiatives that will boost Intermodal Transport system across the Country for developmental growth.
Our Correspondent, reports that President Tinubu also witnessed the signing of the contract for the commencement of Phase Two of the Red Line Mass Transit project from Oyingbo to National Theatre and embarked on inaugural presidential train ride.
The red line rail with eight Stations in Agbado, Iju, Agege, Ikeja, Oshodi, Mushin, Yaba and Oyingbo, when fully operational is expected to run Thirty-Seven trips and convey about five Hundred Thousand passenger daily.and will be managed by the Lagos State Metropolitan Transport Authority, LAMATA.
The event was attended by dignitaries including, Governors of Kwara, Ogun, Kogi, Ekiti, Imo, Borno and Nasarawa, states, Wife of the Governor, Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat and wife, Oluremi, former Governor of the State, Akinwunmi Ambode, State and Federal Lawmakers, Captains of Industry, Traditional rulers, top government functionaries, among others.
