The Zamfara State Government has approved the sponsorship of 25 indigene students to the Nigerian Law School for the 2024/2025 academic session as part of efforts to strengthen legal education and support professional development in the state.

The approval, granted under the leadership of Dauda Lawal, will see the government fully cover the registration fees of the beneficiaries, enabling them to pursue their legal training without financial difficulties.

The intervention was facilitated through the Zamfara State Scholarship Board, which described the initiative as part of the administration’s commitment to expanding access to quality education and empowering young professionals from the state.

A spokesperson for the board said the programme represents a deliberate investment in the future of Zamfara by supporting students who have successfully gained admission into the Nigerian Law School.

According to the board, the state government believes that strengthening the legal profession through education will contribute to improved governance, justice delivery and institutional development.

The beneficiaries were selected through what officials described as a transparent and merit based screening process designed to ensure fairness and inclusiveness, with attention given to students from different parts of the state.

With the sponsorship covering their registration costs, the students are expected to focus on their academic training at Nigerian Law School campuses in Abuja, Enugu and Bayelsa.

The government noted that the initiative forms part of broader reforms aimed at revitalising the education sector and providing greater opportunities for Zamfara youths to pursue professional careers.
