The MTN Live It 100 Campus Tour is reshaping student life at Ekiti State University (EKSU), with participants saying the initiative has shown that academic excellence and social engagement can coexist, helping students achieve a healthier and more rewarding university experience.

As the three-day campus activation builds towards its grand finale, students described the programme as more than an entertainment event, saying it has encouraged them to strike a balance between rigorous academic pursuits and personal development through recreation, creativity and networking.

The activation featured digital games, interactive sessions, music performances and a cinema experience, attracting large numbers of students seeking relief from the demands of lectures and continuous assessments.

Speaking at the event, Ayodeji Aderemi, a 300-level Electrical and Electronics Engineering student, said the programme reinforced the importance of maintaining equilibrium between education and leisure.

“Live It 100 means we are balancing education with the fun part. We are having fun, but we also know why we are in school,” he said.

A 200-level Civil Engineering student, Inioluwa, noted that students should not feel compelled to spend all their time studying without opportunities to relax and socialise.

“You don’t have to always read, read, read. You can attend events like this, spend time with your friends and still focus on your studies. It’s about balancing everything,” the student said.

For Miriam Adebayo, a 200-level Mass Communication student, the activation demonstrated the importance of committing fully to every aspect of campus life.

“Sometimes, have fun. When you are having fun, give it your 100 per cent. When you’re studying too, give it your 100 per cent,” she said.

Another Mass Communication student, Randy Dukas, described the campus tour as one of the most engaging events held at the university, citing its blend of entertainment, gaming and social interaction.

According to him, the programme encourages students to pursue excellence not only in academics but also in personal growth and extracurricular activities.

With the grand finale expected to feature more entertainment, interactive experiences and the presentation of a brand-new car to one lucky participant, excitement continues to build across the campus.

Beyond the attractions and prizes, many students said the initiative has left a lasting message that success at university depends on achieving the right balance between academic commitment, personal wellbeing and meaningful social experiences.
