Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has distributed 300 vehicles and 2,000 motorcycles to individuals and groups across the state as part of an empowerment programme aimed at promoting economic activities and improving grassroots mobility.

The items were presented on Thursday at a ceremony held at the Trade Fair Complex in Gusau.

The distribution, according to the state government, is intended to support individuals and organisations recognised for their contributions to the state’s socio-economic and political development.

Speaking at the event, Lawal said the initiative was part of his administration’s efforts to provide practical support for grassroots organisations and individuals.

He maintained that empowerment should translate into tangible opportunities for beneficiaries rather than remain at the level of political promises.

“Empowerment goes beyond rhetoric. It requires providing our people and grassroots organisations with the practical tools needed to be self-reliant, restore dignity, and deliver the real dividends of democracy,” he said.

The governor urged beneficiaries to deploy the vehicles and motorcycles effectively, particularly in facilitating movement and supporting productive activities across the state.

He also called on the recipients to remain committed to the administration’s development agenda, stressing the importance of their participation in efforts to rebuild the state.

Lawal said his government would sustain its focus on infrastructure development, economic revitalisation and the restoration of peace and stability in Zamfara.
