The Major Oil Marketer Association of Nigeria (MOMAN) has debunked the fear of petroleum products scarcity currently being spread in different quarters in this yuletide season.

Speaking with Daily Times, the Executive Secretary, MOMAN, Mr Clement Isong said, there is no scarcity of petroleum products currently in the country and there is no reason why there should be.

“As far as we can see, there is nothing that will disrupt the supply of fuel which will lead to scarcity, as we are currently meeting with all stakeholders in the industry in order to have a hitch-free yuletide season” he averred.

The Federal government has also assured Nigerians of adequate fuel supply this yuletide and this assurance was given at a stakeholders’ meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Speaking at the meeting, the Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, (NNPC), Mallam Mele Kyari said the Corporation has taken stock of their readiness for the festive period, particularly in terms of supplies and distribution of petroleum products across the country, in order for the  festive period to be  hitch-free, especially Christmas and New Year.

“We are very sure today that we have a very robust supply plan not just for Christmas but beyond. We are assuring Nigerians that the NNPC has made arrangement for the adequate supply of petroleum products and If there are any issues, we collaborated with other agencies of government to ensure those issues are resolved to ensure Nigerians have a very Merry Christmas this year”, he said.
