Crisis: Enugu State evacuates indigenes studying in University of Jos

Chidi Ilogebe, Special Adviser on Students Affairs to Enugu State Governor, says no fewer than 135 indigenes of the state studying in University of Jos, Plateau, have been evacuated.

Ilogebe disclosed this in a statement on Monday in Enugu.

He said that the gesture by the state government became necessary following the recent violent crisis that erupted in Jos.

The special adviser said that the students were evacuated from Jos on Aug. 22, and had gone back to their respective homes and other destinations.

He said that the rest were taken to their various homes within Plateau and its environs based on their requests.
