First Bank holds corporate responsibility week

First Bank Limited has commenced its Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability (CR&S) that will run between Monday 26th and Friday 30th of July 2021.

The bank in a statement said the first set of activities will be on Monday, while the groundbreaking ceremony of the Construction of a Primary Health Care, Ijedodo, holds on Tuesday, 27 July 2021.

The bank said it will also organise a webinar as a part of the week-long event, which comes up on Wednesday, 28 July 2021, with the topic: ‘Education – Does Kindness Have a Role?’.

The third event, which is also going to be a webinar tagged, ‘Making the Cyberworld a Kinder Place’.

According to the lender, the theme for the Week is Kindness…A Way of Life, which reflects the single-minded purpose of the SPARK initiative that seeks to make a difference in the nation by inspiring and institutionalising kindness.

“SPARK is an acronym for Start Performing Acts of Random Kindness which is aimed at reigniting our values which appear to be eroding fast. It is a values-based initiative designed to raise consciousness that we can choose to be kind.

“The CR&S Week, therefore, is the Bank’s practical demonstration of kindness in Nigeria and across its subsidiaries through its Employee Giving & Volunteering programme (EG&VP)”, it stated.  

The, however, added that it is supporting the Lagos State Government on its One Community At A Time (OCAAT) Initiative with the construction of a Primary Health Care Centre to improve the standard of living of residents of Ijedodo, Ojo Local Government Area (LGA).
