FRSC begins morning cry at motor parks

In its determination to ensure sanity on roads, officials of the Federal Road Safety Commission have embark on daily enlightenment at Lagos motor parks, Tagged, Morning Cry

Sector Commander of FRSC, Olusegun Ogungbemide said this is part of the agenda of the command to educate drivers and road users to desist from over speeding, drugs and to obey traffic regulations.

Speaking in Lagos,he listed other plans of the sector as collaboration with stakeholders in the transportation industry, enforcement of law and order, and regular training of staff Commander Ogungbemide called on transporters to ensure their vehicles are in good condition, and also conduct regular training of their staff.

He attributed accidents on the roads to rickety vehicles, bad behavior of drivers such as over speeding and effects of drugs taking.

The FRSC Commander urged the people to desist from lawlessness, as he said the burning of hundreds of BRT vehicles during the End SARS protest is having adverse effects on transportation due to shortage of buses and emergence  of rickety vehicles.

Speaking on ways to solve the problems of traffic in Apapa port area, he advocated the use of intermodal transportation involving rail, sea and road. He said when the standard gauge rail being constructed by the federal government to Apapa port is completed it will greatly reduced traffic.

The FRSC Commander commended the efforts of Lagos State government in its efforts to ensure effective transportation, and pledged the collaboration of FRSC to achieve this.

He assured that the body will continue to cooperate with LASTMA, Police and other law enforcement agencies to ensure sanity on the roads

Commander Ogungbemide assured that any erring official of the Commission will be santioned.
