NEXIM Bank appoints D’banj as brand ambassador

The Nigerian Export-Import Bank (NEXIM Bank) has appointed a veteran Nigerian musician, Mr Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo, popularly called D’banj, as its brand ambassador.

This was contained in a post on the bank’s Instagram handle.

The Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of NEXIM, Dr Abubakar Bello, while unveiling D’banj as the bank’s ambassador in Abuja said the development is to promote its new product.
He said, “This is to further create awareness and sensitisation on the bank’s newly launched products; the Women and Youth Export Facility (WAYEF) and Small and Medium Enterprise Export Facility (SMEEF) ‘NEXIM bank secured partnership with D’banj as part of repositioning efforts.

“The WAYEF and SMEEF initiatives are aimed at empowering women and young creatives in the entrepreneurial sector.”

D’banj, who took to social media to announce his partnership with the bank, described it as an opportunity to make ‘an impactful difference in the lives of women and young creatives.’

According to a post on the banks’ website, NEXIM bank which is owned by the Federal Government and Central Bank of Nigeria, was established by the Federal Government of Nigeria with Act 38 of 1991 as an Export Credit Agency with a share capital of N50bn held by the Federal Ministry of Finance Incorporated and the Central Bank of Nigeria. The bank replaced the Nigerian Export Credit.

Its vision is to be the leading export development bank in Africa while its mission is to become a first-class institution promoting a diversified export base through the provision of finance, risk bearing and advisory service in line with Government Trade Policy.

According to the bank, SMEEF is designed to support export-oriented small and medium enterprises in the non-oil exports value chain.

It is also intended to stimulate and increase deliberate funding to Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) towards broadening Nigeria’s export basket and facilitating industrialization for value-added exports.
