We have no record of accident since last year February, says LAGFERRY

The Lagos State Ferry Service Company (LAGFERRY) has disclosed that it records no accident on the water since last February 2020.

The Managing Director, Lagos State Ferry Service Company (LAGFERRY), Mr Ladi Balogun, disclosed this during the unveiling of LAGFERRY’s Mega Raffle Draw tagged, “SAILING ‘N’ SMILIN Raffle Promo, “held in Falomo Ikoyi Lagos on Friday.

The Managing Director of the company, Mr Ladi Balogun, made the disclosure while addressing journalist during the unveiling of LAGFERRY’s Mega Raffle, held in Lagos on Friday.

Explaining how LAGFERRY achieved the feat, he noted that with the support of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA), that LAGFERRY was able to record no single accident on waterways in all the 13 ferry terminals in the state in over 15 months.

According to him, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu had approved seven additional boats, which we have been delivered, making a total of 20 boats between February 2020 to June 2021, which would soon be commissioned soon.

“In Nigeria, we have not seen boat operators having up to 20 fleets in operation while the first history is been made by Mr Governor and Lagos State Government.

“The water transportation was the safest means of transportation in Nigeria, connecting the road to the water was becoming easier with the Launching of First and Last Mile bus by Mr Governor.”

The LAGFERRY boss, therefore, charged Lagosians to patronize water transport which he described as the safest means of transportation.
