WTD: Oyo State government plans to rehabilitate Ado Awaye

In an effort to promote tourism, the Oyo State Government delegate visited the suspended lake (Ado Awaye) in Iseyin local government area for inspection as it will be hosting the 2021 world tourism day celebration coming up on the 27th of September, 2021 at Ado-Awaye, Oyo state.

This was made known by the Special Assistance to the Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ademola Ige during his visit to the lake with other relevant officials in the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Directors of works both in Iseyin local government and Araromi LCDA, to determine the rehabilitation works that needed to be carried out on the site in preparation for the upcoming event.

The SA to the governor however, directed that necessary actions should immediately take off on the possible rehabilitation needed shortly after a critical assessment of the infrastructures on the site.

In the same vein, Hon.Dele Adeola, the Honourable member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju State Constituency, while speaking equally appreciated His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for the uncommon display of love to the people of Ado-Awaye and Iseyin local government at large.

“His Excellence has always shown genuine love to the people of my constituency and I so much appreciate him for this. Also, charged the Directors of works to double efforts on the rehabilitation work both on the steps and the mini hall as earlier said by Hon. Ige in view of time constraint to the programme date, while pledging continuous and unalloyed supports and cooperations of his people to the government of Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde in the state.”

Hon. Dele stressed, “I must appreciate the natural endowment gifted to this community by God. Initially, we were told there are two suspended lakes across the globe, one in Colarado in the United States of America and one in Ado Awaye here. But recently, research has shown that the one in Colarado is artificial. With this, we can say we have just one natural suspended lake in the whole world and it is here in Ado Awaye.

“I and Kabieyeso are always in talk. I must commend him for his zeal and move towards bringing development to Ado Awaye especially the Ado Awaye Suspended Lake. Let me also inform you that the Oyo state government led by Engineer Seyi Makinde is in talks with investors about developing the Lake. We hope that very soon, things will change.”

In his response, Kabiyesi Alado of Ado-Awaye, Oba Rev’d Ademola Olugbile Folakanmi,Makuledoye 11, Soludero 1, appreciated the Oyo state Governor, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde FSNE, for this bold step describing it as a good gesture towards the development of the site and for a successful hosting of the upcoming world tourism day event.
