Rep. Member backs FG on foreign loans

A member of the House of Representatives, Deacon Chike Okafor says global financial institutions have expressed  explicit confidence in the  federal government ability to obtain loans and   repay such loan facilities.

To this end, the lawmaker said it was not out of place for any government to obtain loans to finance its budget deficit, saying that borrowing to fund the nation’s annual budget was not alien to Nigeria.

Deacon Okafor who  made assertions while fielding questions from newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital noted that if financial institutions have no confidence on the Nigeria government  and her  ability to repay such loans, the global organizations would not grant the government loan request.

The lawmaker  a banker who represents Okigwe South federal constituency in the House of Representatives also expressed absolute confidence on the managers of the nation’s economy.

On the state of the country’s health facilities, Okafor expressed worry on the poor infrastructural decay in the primary health system across the country and canvassed for total rehabilitation of the primary health facilities.
