As Donald Trump tenure ended as the President of the United States of America (USA), the 46th President of the World’s most powerful country, Joe Biden, 78, has entered the White House, after been sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice, John Roberts.

His running mate in the US presidential election of November 3, 2020, Kamala Harris, 56, was also sworn-in as the first woman to become Vice President.

This is even as he wastes no time in office, after issuing 15 executive order on the first day in office.

Also, as part of its effort in kicking the ground running, he has proceeded in swearing-in hundreds of White House staff virtually.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Biden, acknowledged that millions of jobs have been lost and 100 of thousands of businesses have also been closed, due to the COVID-19 ravaging the country and other countries of the world.

It is, however, worthy of note that more than 400 thousand Americans have died of Coronavirus pandemic, even as the new US President has promised to fascinate not less than 100 million Americans in his 100 days in office.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump, who left Washington three hours before Biden’s swearing-in, has made history as the first American President that skipped the inauguration of his successor in more than 150 years of US tradition.

Although, Trump has left the White House, however, promised his supporters to be back in some form.

The inauguration comes exactly two weeks after Trump supporters stormed the Capitol in a bid to disrupt the certification by Congress of Biden’s November election victory.

Commenting on the absence of the former US President at the inauguration ceremony, Trump’s former Advisor, Ron Bonjean, who spoke in an interview on BBC News, which is monitored by Lagos Business News, supported his boss decision for not attending the historical event.
