*Says original work that God approved is Agriculture

The General President of the United Apostolic Church of Christ (UACC) worldwide, Dr Bayo Owoyemi has urged the federal government of Nigeria to pay more attention to Agriculture for the betterment and growth of the nation by easing the high cost and scarcity of agriculture food produce.

The President stated this while speaking with the newsmen on the sidelines of the church’s 56th Supreme Executive Council meeting held recently in Lagos.

Owoyemi stated that, there is scarcity everywhere, while the inflation rate is increasing, the work that God approves is Agriculture and all of us want to come to the city to work in the bank and other high places and abandoned the rural.

According to him, I want to encourage the government to support Agriculture, because the original work that God approved is Agriculture, unfortunately, we are not farming but importing food items.

“The highest decision-making arm of the body where policies of the organization are made and reviewed for the common good, God is interested in the unity of Nigeria and is aware of its travails that would soon give way to a better society. The nation under God will make progress at the end.

“The problems of Nigeria are not insurmountable but need to be tackled with sincerity of purpose by the country’s leaders.”

He, therefore, admonished the government to be proactive in handling the security situation in the country, adding that it is the responsibility of the government to ensure the safety of citizens, while the duty of citizens is to pray for their country and its leaders rather than abuse them.

“In other countries, the citizens bless their leaders and this translates into better governance,” he said.

Owoyemi, however, called on leaders at all levels to shun nepotism and other vices that tended to tear the country apart, noting that when human actions fail, it is time to seek the face of God for solutions.

He reiterated that the God factor was key to the success of any government and was optimistic that every evil bedevilling the nation would fizzle out.

Owoyemi called on youths to shun evil, emulate good role models and embrace peace in order to build a society that would engender harmony.

“UACC has over the years influenced positively any environment it operates in and tries to give back to society through empowerment programmes including the provision of boreholes for the communities, among many others.

The church was established in 1965 in the South West of Nigeria with 16 members but has since multiplied to thousands with a presence in Nigeria and overseas.
